This tiny restaurant calls itself a sushi, wine bar and cafe with fusion cuisine, though fusion seems to take top billing on the menu. Dishes feature an array of Asian flavors with a mix of sweet, spicy and sour. Fruit appears alongside proteins all over the menu in such incarnations as mango chutney, apple salad, orange dressing and pomegranate marinate. You'll also see more traditional Asian ingredients like wasabi, sake and miso infused into butters, potatoes, marinades and dressings.

When you think of perfume, you very rarely think about movies. One reason for this is that the two give you such different sensations. Perfume is an olfactory sensation – a smell. Movies give you both audible and visual sensations – images and sounds. It is almost implausible to think that these two sensory experiences could ever cross paths. But don’t tell that to the makers of Perfume: The Story of a Murderer, for they seem to think that even a film can omit a scent.

Wong Jing goes back to the old school with “On his Majesty’s Secret Service” a truly madcap period set comedy in the classic early 1990s style. Although the master of the form himself, Stephen Chow, isn’t starring in such films anymore, there’s certainly no reason to stop making them, and in his absence, Louis Koo has stepped up to the plate, accompanied by a great cast of Hong Kong and Mainland stars including Barbie Hsu, Tong Dawei (“Red Cliff II”), Song Jia (“Curiosity Killed the Cat”), Liu Yang (“Bullet & Brain”), Fan Siu Wong (recently in “Ip Man”) and even veteran genre favourite Sandra Ng.

I have no problem with violent movies, but they do need a story. This is lacking in the story department. It is also not as violent as FREIGHT which I have just seen a rough cut of, but that has a story and keeps you gripped. I know I am not alone in this remark

I'm beginning to wonder whether the 3D novelty is wearing out already, especially if slapped on films that think the beauty of visual effects and animation take precedence over a solid story. Everything here worked to a perfect T, from the very key component of animation, to voice casting, and sound, but what the film ultimately lacked, was a compelling narrative, and soul.
